History

HISTORY

Prior to the First Rikti War, the SOLUS Collective's headquarters was a three-level suite atop a Baumton skyscraper.  This building, along with many other supergroup facilities in Paragon City, was destroyed by the Rikti as part of their strategy to undermine superhero opposition to their invasion.  Other top Rikti targets included hospitals, weapons repositories, communication grids and transportation centers.  The strategy was brutal but effective.  Efforts to organize resistance were hampered by the lack of secure facilities, and many hero and civilian lives were lost for want of on-site medical care or safe transport to the hospitals which remained.

When the Collective reformed as the Foundation, one of the first items to be addressed was the need for a secure base of operations.  We wanted a location which would not be vulnerable to outside attack, with facilities equal to or greater than those provided by Paragon City services and secure power and monitoring stations which were independent of Paragon City sources.

FACILITIES

Unlike the previous brick-and-mortar structure of the Collective's base, we opted to locate the Foundation's new state-of-the-art facility in rotational tesseract space.  Our multi-dimensional teleportation security system (zone 8) is programmed to allow entry for SOLUS members and members of our allied coalition groups.  Members may bring non-SOLUS and non-coalition visitors into the base at any time; however, be aware that the security system is very tight and may not admit outside personnel on some occasions.

Zone 7 is our infirmary, the first area built in the new base.  In this area, we have two  hospital-quality reclaimators which are coded to a private and highly secured medlink recall circuit.  This device allows injured heroes to transport from the field directly to the base, then use the entryway teleporter to return to the same zone in which they left.  This is particularly useful when fighting in out of the way places such as the designated hazard zones.  An autodoc robotic dispenser provides pills for healing and endurance boosts and purchases higher end boosts of all varieties.  We also maintain full stocks of reviving and anti-mesmerization boosts in a separate collector unit, so that with one stop, we can get healed, be resupplied, and return to support our fellows as quickly as possible.

Our next priority was to establish a secure transportation system, again, independent of public centers.  Our teleportation system (zone 3) covers all zones with teleport signals in Paragon City, including several areas not covered by the Paragon Transit Authority.  The city zones include:  Atlas Park, Galaxy City, Kings Row, Steel Canyon, Skyway City, Faultline, Talos Island, Independence Port, Brickstown, Croatoa, Founder's Falls and Peregrine Island.

Our hazard and war zones include:  The Hollows, Perez Park, Boomtown, Striga Isle, Dark Astoria, Terra Volta, Crey's Folly, Eden and the Rikti War Zone.

Paragon City planning authorities do not currently have teleportation signal beacons for Bloody Bay, Siren's Call, Warburg or Recluse's Victory, nor, due to interference from the Hamidon, is there a direct link available to the Hive.  Should these areas have beacons in the future, the Foundation will add them.

Our equipment and empowerment workroom is located in Zone 2.  This area houses arcane and tech worktables, high level arcane and tech empowerment stations, base storage, equipment storage, and our vault.  The worktables process of raw arcane and technological items.  The Supercollider and the Mystic Crucible are used to combine base-quality salvage components to provide various hour-long protection or ability enhancements.  Members may store or trade enhancements in the storage areas provided.  The vault is linked with the private storage in the City-owned Vault Reserve system for convenient access. In addition, we have a University-linked construction workbench which enables members to work in privacy and without distraction.

Zones 1 and 5 house a contained and shielded generator and a top quality supercomputer, mission computer and related security systems.

In our off duty hours, we can relax in our recreation area (Zone 4), which houses a library, plasma television and satellite (plus a few feeds our tech members have added), atrium and wet bar.

Finally, for more formal business gatherings, we have our meeting room (Zone 6).  Members are all welcome to use this for gathering as well as strategy sessions.  Our banner displays honor the colors of our coalition partners, five of which are also honored as Top 100 Supergroups.

Through this coalition, our heroes have access to additional manpower and technology that can aid them in their daily crime fighting activities.  Our current coalition partners include:

Alt-aholics Anonymous The Champions of Justice
The Consilium End of Days
Go Force Heroics
Those Who Wield Power United States Emergency Law Enforcement Special Services
The World Liberty Brigade Sentinel of Liberty

PINNACLE SECTOR

We've just begun construction of our base in the Pinnacle sector, using the same high-security and top quality design elements as those used in our Liberty sector base.  Like the Liberty sector base, this location is also in rotational tesseract space and secured with a multi-dimensional teleportation security system.

Construction is proceeding rapidly.  Currently, the base is equipped with an infirmary with a hospital quality reclaimator and a stocked collection unit for all levels of boosts.  We have filed a permit with the city for a autodoc robotic dispenser, and expect to receive this shortly.

Teleportation needs are currently handled through cooperation of our coalition partners.  We are currently coordinating with them to ensure coverage of all zones.

In addition, the base is equipped with a basic workroom area complete with base storage.  Future additions include a University-linked worktable and a vault.
