James Henally originally grew up on the
East Side of Steel Canyon, Paragon City. As a young man, James graduated
PCU with a major in Archaeological Studies with an emphasis on Heroic Research.
While studying abroad in his final year at PCU, James learned the horrible
news of what had happened in the invasion. Upon returning home, James
learned of the horrors much of the city had witnessed.
He donned the black protective gear |
given by the Paragon City PD and walked into
Boomtown to try to help with recovery. There, James saw a little
bombed out building that he knew from his childhood as the one place he
loved: the Paragon City Natural History Museum. Brokenhearted, he
entered the structure to try to save as much history as possible.
On the ground, he saw the one piece that drove him to study at PCU - the
Sword of Alexander, the source of Alexander the Great's power. Picking
it up off the ground, he suddenly became imbued with a strength he had
never imagined.
That was when the Black Whirlwind was born.
