Gertrude Tenchhorst was a super-weakling
the likes of which the Charles Atlas program could never help. What
she did have was an exceptional mind and undying superheroine dreams.
Her studies in the field of genetics led her to a highly controversial
genetic researcher who was working on a new method of gene enhancement
hwich would create superheroes. Eager to reach her dream, Trudie
volunteered as a test subject, and as the newly buff and beautiful Riane |
Vendaval,
became a radiation defender.
But the research was fatally flawed.
As the surviving test subject, Riane decided to hold on to her dream as
long as she could. Fortunately, help came in the form of a nanite-infused
blood transfusion from a superhero friend.
To correct the genetic deterioration, the
nanites injected coolants into her system, negating her radiation and healing
powers, but giving her the ability to manipulate ice instead. Undaunted,
Riane has rechristened her ice-half Gyrfalcon after the arctic hunting
hawk and is back to living her dream.
