The Rikti war was over.
Not for some, however. Born of spinter
groups from both Vanguard and Seraph, a black bag operation began conducting
activities that would make the most hardened veterans of the war wince.
To master Rikti biology, tactics and technology, they commenced manipulating
the remnant forces still on earth. They re-aligned Rikti portals so that
Rikti forces were deployed into defenseless neighbourhoods then |
analyzed their response, clearing the remainder
human and alien alike, taking them all captive for experimentation. The
force they used was brutal, the experiments stomach churning, and the casualities
to innocent civilians immense.
They would however be undone, a Vanguard
operative (name withheld for safety) stumbled upon the operations and set
moves against it. In a vicous battle with the operation's head combat
operative, the operation was exposed and shut down.
The Vanguard member was proclaimed a hero,
commended highly, and finally dishcarged to work in Paragon as a hero aiding
in future fights. Dubbed "Icebound Animus," he began a career away
from Vanguard as a free agent for justice.
Yet still he hears a voice quaking eerily
in the back of his mind...
