CITY OF HEROES - LIBERTY and PINNACLE SERVERS
The SOLUS Foundation
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

OOC Background:

The last thing either of us intended to do when we began to play City of Heroes was to run any sort of organization.  We'd both successfully run large groups in other games, and had a great deal of fun with them, but time had passed since we'd done that, and what we wanted most of all was just to kick back and have fun playing.

For over a year, that's exactly what we did.  The only problem was, we kept meeting people with whom we wanted to keep in touch.  Casual gamers, like ourselves, with a mature outlook, who also enjoyed RP.

Yet there really wasn't any way to keep in contact other than through friends lists...which all too rapidly maxed out.  As content expanded and as our stable of characters moved through the ranks, the value of having a strong teaming network became more and more apparent, as did the need for a way to communicate with all these great people.

When coalition channels and supergroup bases were announced, it was an opportunity we couldn't ignore.  So here we are.

What We Are Not:

In many ways, we're not a typical supergroup and we don't intend to be.  We don't put out general invitations over broadcast and admit anyone who responds just so we can earn extra prestige or be able to say we have a full roster.  We will not give anyone a signing bonus to join and we will not offer powerleveling for those who join.  We will not critique anyone's RP.  We will not require people play a certain number of hours a week, or base membership or rank on how much they can earn in prestige.

What We Are:

We are gamers who are here in SOLUS because we want to be.  We work for the group not because we are required to, but because we believe in the group and in each other.  We play together because we have fun together.  We believe in an honor system and abide by it.  We care for the gaming experience of our fellows as much as we care for our own.  We are gaming friends, regardless of where we live, what our schedules are, or how often we can all see each other.

What we want, and what we have, is a group of reliable, friendly, trustworthy and like-minded people with whom they can have fun gaming.  If that's what you want as a gamer, we'll be happy to have you.

SOLUS Goals and Member Benefits:

The SOLUS Foundation's goal is to provide a home for mature-minded casual gamers who enjoy RP and to enhance the gaming experience for its members.  The following are some of the benefits SOLUS members have:

* RP and RP friendly coalition partners
* Fully equipped bases (see our base tours for more)
* Frequent SG events
* A dedicated in-game global channel ("SOLUS")
* A website for information and for showing off your characters and their stories
* Forums
* A blog for out of game notice of SG events

Other questions about the group are covered in the FAQ.  If you have any questions not covered in the FAQ, if you'd like to find out more about joining, or if you have an RP group interested in coalition or event teaming, please contact dalghryn at charter.net or llindith at sbcglobal.net, send a global message to @dalghryn or @lionors, or contact our characters Captain Superior or Azure Noir in-game on Liberty, or Lazon or Arcana Boreal on Pinnacle.

Until then, happy gaming!
