CITY OF HEROES - LIBERTY SERVER'S The SOLUS Foundation RAVEN FLAME
She tried for weeks to make flames appear again, but they wouldn't. But any time something strange happened, she was blamed. Only James was kind to her. Eventually, she was sent off to boarding school in North Carolina. While there, she began to understand her powers of fire and, oddly enough, ice. She led a fairly normal life, keeping her growing powers secret. She graduated at 17 and reluctantly returned home. One night, while her parents were away, a man in a mask with guns broke into their window. Without thinking, she shot flames from her fingers, catching him, and the silk curtains, on fire. He fired the gun once and ran. The shot had hit one of the chandeliers which came loose, striking her on the head. She was only out a minute or so, but it was enough for the flames to blaze into a roaring fire engulfing the ceiling above me. After freezing the flames near her, she ran upstairs, stopping in horror. The room that blazed in hot flames was James room. By the time she could extinguish the flames, it was too late. Before anyone could react, she ran, full of self recrimination and loathing. Eventually she made her way to Paragon City, a refuge of sorts. She took up the role of saving lives, but felt anything but a hero. Nothing could change the life she took. No amount of good could make up for what she thought was the my evil of her past deeds. James' death haunted her. In her sleep she saw the hate and accusation on her family's faces. She was alone. Or so she thought, until she stumbled into the wrong room in the hospital one day. Losing control of her flames after a rguelly battle, she set a bank of computers on fire. The IT tech on duty put out the flames with his own frost and ice. He was promptly fired with the often-heard explanation that heroes belonged outside in Paragon City. Feeling even more awful, she offered him
her city-financed apartment, intending to leave it for him and move on.
But he convinced her to stay and they have been together since. In
the back of her mind she fears he may find out the truth, that he may believe
like the rest that she is a fraud and a murderer, but until that day happens,
she will do her best, fighting beside Winter
Hawk to bring truth, peace and justice to Paragon City as Raven Flame.
