CITY OF HEROES - LIBERTY SERVER'S The SOLUS Foundation TECHNO-9
When he woke up, he found that his body was now unusually dense and solid. It took him a bit to realize his strength had been massively increased too, but weirdest all was the day he discovered he could literally pull earth to him to form a sort of armor. The only downside is his eyes are bit light sensitive and requires a re-breather to help insert elements he needs in daily life. Extensive tests by the best scientists in Paragon City (Who, incidentally, do not work for Amalgamated Consolidated Technologies, Inc.) determined that the nanotechnology integrated into his body is generally harmless and it was safe to release him into the general populace. Later tests by Rick Davis, who ended up having to use a diamond tipped industrial drill to get a blood sample (Techno-9 remembers that it tickled a bit), showed that the nanites had laced every inch of Techno-9’s body and blood with rock that would be a geologist’s paradise on a molecular level. In a very real way, he is one with the earth. What’s more is that it has provided him a form of teleportation. Though the exact method is not one Techno likes to think about overmuch. Over time, he’s found new uses for his remarkable strength and the way his nanotechnology maneuvers the earth around him and through him. Official Hero Corps documentation classes him as a Tanker, defining him as an Earth primary and Super Strength as secondary. It fits him. His preferred tactic is to hit the target till it stops moving, or he does. Given that very often bullets, energy blasts, fire, and several other things he’s never quite figured out what they are, tend to bounce off, it’s usually the opposition that drops. He chose to be a hero, because, at the end of the day, helping people had a certain level of fun to it. As he puts it, “Where else can you do good and get a chance to smack the snot out of someone who well and truly deserves it.” His hobbies include drawing, opera, fighting Council Warwolves (“WOLFIEESSS!!!”), and throwing large boulders at Earth Thorn Mages from the Circle of Thorns, in a game he tends to refer to as ‘Boulder Tag’. The only thing about being a superhero that Techno-9 really misses is the Nemesis Energy Staff. It wasn’t that it was the most effective weapon, but the truth was he just liked the way it looked. But at the end of the day, being a hero is about doing the right thing. Who knows, maybe the tech experts will be able to figure out and produce weapons to help the common policeman better stand against Super Villains. Meantime, the SOLUS foundation is his new superhero family. Sure, he sees his own family from time to time, but it’s tough to explain the life some days. How do you tell your parents that you get shot all the time but that it really doesn’t hurt anymore?
